Grandparent’s Day Celebrations at
K.V. No. 1 Indore 2nd Shift
12th Nov., 2009
Grandparent’s Day was celebrated at K.V. No. 1, 2nd Shift on the 12th of November, 2009, by the children of the Primary Section with the active and whole hearted co-operation of the H.M. Ms. Baljeet Kaur and all the members of the staff of the Primary Section. The Activity Hall was all decked up for the occasion with flowers, balloons and ribbons. The Children had drawn posters of grand parents and banners of ‘Welcome’ to greet their loving grand parents.
The children then gave their grandparents an emotional welcome by applying ‘Tilak’ and presenting them pens as a token of memory of this special day. Then they presented a Welcome Song “Grandpa Grandpa you are our true friend” in which they expressed how much their grandparents meant to them in their lives. The children of classes fourth & fifth then presented a musical skit “Bargad Ki Chaon” which depicted situations where parents had no time for the children and were left to themselves to complete their assignments and with no alternative than to watch T.V. to spend their spare time. On the contrary children with grandparents had a whale of a time as they listened to stories and played and sang along with their grandparents. Such children had a sense of fulfillment & love in their lives. At the end, the children took a pledge to take care of their grandparents. The programme was compeered by Mrs. Ranjana Agashe, Music Teacher, who had also choreographed the play along with Mrs. S. Puranik, Co-ordinator, CCA.
After this heart- touching play, there were a number of games – Quiz, Musical Ball and Pair-Matching, Word game involving a lively interaction of grandparents with their grand children. Prizes were given away by the Principal Mr. S.P. John to the winner ‘pairs’.
Grandparents then expressed their views and their smiling faces and moist eyes gave away their emotion at the gestures of love which their grandchildren had showered on them. Needless to say they would cherish the memories of this wonderful day throughout their life.

Christmas Day Celebrations at
K.V. No. 1 Indore,
2nd Shift
(21.12.2009)
Christmas is a time of great joy and cheer, a time for cakes and sweets, a time for carols and hymns, to sing the praise of the Lord and seek his blessings.
Christmas brings the message of brotherhood and goodwill to all.
Christmas is a much awaited festival at K.V. No. 1, 2nd Shitf as it is celebrated in all the colourful gaiety of the occasion. Like every year, this year too, the Birth of Jesus in a stable in Jerusalem in the small town of Bethleham was depicted. The Magi came on their camels and proclaimed the birth of the Saviour. The villagers rejoiced and spread the message all around (“Go, tell it on the Mountains…..”). This was followed by carols, hymns and Christmas songs (Showers of Blessings, I’m the Happiest Christmas Tree, Away in the manger, Did you know that Santa Claus…). Then came ‘Santa’ jingling along and was welcomed a resounding applause to the song of Jingle Bells which filled the air with joy and cheer.
The Celebrations thus concluded sending home the message of Peace, Harmony and Universal Brotherhood, that is the essence of Christmas.
